Tech Trends: Billing and Payments

One of the most fundamental functions of government since biblical times is billing and collecting money --- whether its taxes, fees or something else.   In 2019 state and local government agencies are buying or building systems to bill or process payments at record rates.  CJIS GROUP tracked over 630 new projects this year that had billing or payment processing elements.  In fact, only the number of security and surveillance technology projects and broadband connectivity projects exceeded billing and payment processing this year.  We expect this trend to continue in 2020.
