Riverbed Guest Blog: State Agencies Continue to Seek Ways to Accelerate the Performance of Remote Workforces

The pandemic presented some of the most pervasive technical tests of state and local agency networks. With entire workforces being forced to work remotely, state IT administrators continue to try to keep pace with the demands of their networks. From application performance, network latency, to security risks, agency IT teams continue to face a myriad of challenges as the pandemic persists.

While employees toil valiantly at home with everything from connectivity constraints to productivity fatigue, much work remains to be done to stand up IT systems needed to support these critical government services.

Since the pandemic began, Riverbed has been working with our public sector customers and partners to help them manage these challenges and give them the control needed to proactively monitor, manage, and secure their networks while supporting exponentially larger remote workforces.

Much of that work is a result of helping customers take a top-down approach to reduce data congestion from their network all the way down to their employee’s devices with Riverbed's Client Accelerator. This optimized network environment ensures that agency employees can have fast, reliable, and secure access to mission critical applications as well as workforce productivity applications such as Office 365, Salesforce, Box and ServiceNow at home or wherever their mission requires.

Over the course of the pandemic, Riverbed’s priority has been to continue expand our product capabilities to align with the new norm of remote public sector agency workforces and ensure the reliability of services to citizens. Recent Client Accelerator feature enhancements included added support for scaling up to 200k clients per customer, new reporting APIs and enhanced integration with Riverbed SaaS Accelerator.

Every agency mission and challenge are unique, but Riverbed stands ready to continue to lead state agencies through this uncertain time. For a take on federal agency priorities, Riverbed conducted a study of federal IT decisionmakers that outlined how federal agencies are accelerating network visibility during the pandemic.
