Identifying SLED IT Systems Ripe for Replacement, Renovation, and Modernization Before Solicitation

The failure of many state unemployment systems in 2020 was an obvious indicator of a family of SLED IT systems that were not equipped to handle the deluge of new unemployment insurance claimants. It was a system failure that was front-page news in many states and vendors responded to solve the problem. But how do you identify the thousands of other SLED IT legacy systems that may need replacement or renovation?

In our experience at CJIS GROUP, there are a number of key sources and items you’ll need to know in order to get a jump on opportunities before a solicitation:

  • Budgets, and other funding documents
  • Relevant legislation mandating changes
  • News regarding problems/failures or changes in strategy
  • Agency satisfaction with incumbents
  • Proper points of contact
