College Park Approves Use of Security Cameras from Avrio RMS Group
February 25, 2010 - College Park officials and police will soon have another crime-fighting tool at their disposal, thanks to a $500,000 state grant. The City Council voted 6-2 Tuesday to approve a 19-camera security system in the city's Old Town neighborhood, near downtown College Park. The cameras will be set up along College Avenue and Calvert and Knox roads to monitor the area and deter criminals. Easton-based security firm Avrio RMS Group could install them as soon as June 1.

Edmond Court Receives Computer System Upgrade From New Dawn Technologies
February 18, 2010 -Edmond's Municipal Court is getting a computer upgrade to replace its antiquated software that is compared to the out-of-date DOS operating systems that dominated the IBM PC market more than 20 years ago. The $227,000 system, with all the latest bells and whistles, has been a long time coming.Court Administrator Sharon Ferrell said work started in September 2008 to determine what kind of system was needed for the city's court system. Court staff and computer technicians are working at least six hours a week configuring the new system. It could take another six months before the system is used by the courts. Microsoft announced on Dec. 15 that it would donate PhotoDNA, a technology developed by Microsoft Research, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which will use it to identify and eliminate images of child sexual abuse and exploitation. DHS Selects Labs for Project 25 Interoperability Testing
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office for Interoperability and Compatibility approved eight laboratories for testing and evaluation of radios to ensure compliance with the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials Project 25 (P25) interoperability standards. The laboratories' goals are to give first responders a consistent and traceable way of gathering P25 compliance information on radios purchased.
There are two independent labs -- Flom Test Lab and Timco Engineering Inc. -- and six labs associated with equipment manufacturers. National 911 Office to Establish Technical Assistance Center

The national E9-1-1 Implementation Coordination Office launched an initiative to create a technical assistance center, which will be led by L. Robert Kimball & Associates and a team of 911 experts, including the National Emergency Number Association. The center will provide 911 centers and authorities with a new resource to promote and enhance efforts for deploying advanced 911 capabilities and improve receiving and processing of calls and data.
